Last night Jamie Kelly emailed me that he had been advised that Richard Lane, author of 'The Golden Age of Australian Radio Drama 1923-1960 had passed away. Richard Lane's books inspired Moris Sztajer and myself to work on the 'Encyclopaedia of Australian Radio Shows database (EARSdb) Richard Lane was a prolific scriptwriter as well as Actor and Producer. Please take the opportunity of posting a Richard Lane story, annecdote or comment here. I spoke to Richard Lane by telephone several times in the last 10 years. The 2nd time was to advise him I had found some Transcription Discs of shows written by him and offered to send him copies on CD. He couldn't be convinced that anybody would be the slightest bit interested in ever hearing the shows again. I wish I had started collecting and talking to these people many years earlier so they could understand how their work does still effect an audience.
