G'day All, I am a nephew of Joy Nichols. She was an Aussie international broadcasting and stage star from the 1940s to the 1960s. She started performances with the ABC Youth Orchestra/Group, (not sure which last word is correct), travelled to entertain Aussie troops during WW2, played in "Take it from Here" with Jimmy Edwards and thingy Bentley for several years, did stage shows and plays at the London Palladium, Sydney Tivoli and I'm pretty sure a Broadway show or two. Lots of her songs were recorded on 78 rpm discs. The Palladium show was "The Pyjama Game", for which a 12 inch 33 rpm LP vinyl was issued. For family history reasons, I wish to prepare a CD of as much of her material as possible. Keepers of our official archives and repositories have such material but require that I secure copyright clearance from Great Britain at least for the "Take it from here" episodes, but I won't live ling enough for the copyrights to expire! And of course I don't want to pay huge royalties for my particular purposes.
What material is available from contributors to this site please?
